DISH applauds 50 quarterfinalists in America’s Best Communities competition

Last year, we signed on as a co-sponsor of the America’s Best Communities competition because we’ve long recognized the health of America’s communities is vital to our health as a nation. This phased, multi-year program will award a total of $10 million to support economic development over the course of the competition. Today we reached a significant milestone as 50 quarterfinalists were selected from a pool of 125 applicants based on the ingenuity of their proposals to revitalize their communities. Each of the 50 communities will now receive $50,000 to begin putting their plans into action.

“DISH’s connection to America’s small towns has been deep throughout our entire history, and their success helps drive our success. Just as our business thrives on innovation and creative thinking, the same holds true for the health of a rural economy. We look forward to seeing the communities’ strategic thinking take root.
