It’s crazy to think that Labor Day is right around the corner! Where has the time gone? Sometimes we get so busy trying to squeeze every last drop out of our summers that we forget to take a moment to stop and smell the roses. Labor Day is, after all, the national holiday that rewards all of our hard work. Between work and play, it’s easy to forget that you should also make time to relax.
Instead of trying to fit in those last minute plans, pack up the kids and your furry friends and hit the road for a little R & R this Labor Day weekend. Below are five tips that show how you and your family can have a very fun and relaxing weekend.
S’mores cook-off: Using all different kinds of candy bars and marshmallow shapes, see who can create the most unique s’more. If you volunteer to be the judge, you get to try all the different combinations. Better taste each s’more more than once just to be sure of course…
Snap a photo: Take your smart phone, your camera or buy a couple of disposable cameras for the kiddos and go for a nature walk. Whatever inspires you, take a picture and enjoy the memories when you get back home.
Make a Deluxe Fort: Whether you’re sleeping in a tent or RV, bring extra blankets, pillows and string lights to make a cozy, dreamy nest where you can catch a few extra zzz’s or curl up with a good book.
Play Charades: A great game to have everyone gather together for while relaxing by the campfire. Everyone can take turns and you will be guaranteed to get some good laughs in!
Movie under the Stars: Don’t forget to bring the popcorn! Snuggle up next to friends and family and watch an old favorite or pick something new to view on your DISH equipment. When it’s over, spend some time looking up at the night sky; perhaps you’ll even see a shooting star!
