While Waze might be a lesser known GPS app compared to the iPhone Maps or Google Maps, its commonly referred to as one of the best. Waze uses a community based effort to bring it’s users minute to minute updates on traffic, speed traps, accidents, road hazards, and traffic jams. With the updates given by each user in real time, Waze will automatically adjust your route to get you to your destination the quickest and safest. Another benefit users record for others is gas prices which can be shown along your route so that you’re able to get the most bang for your buck! You can find it here on iTunes or here on Google Play.

CoPilot RV

Taking GPS a step further, CoPilot GPS was specifically created for the RVer. CoPilot offers benefits such as calculating your route and giving you the safest one for you and your rig based on it’s size and weight and adding automatic suggested stops to your route to make your road trip experience ever better. And while those benefits are cool, the best and most unique benefit of CoPilot is that it will still guide you when you don’t have cell service. No matter if you love to boondock or prefer the sense of community at the campground with your friends, not having any cell phone service or internet comes as no surprise, but with CoPilot, you’ll take comfort in knowing you can always safely get to your next destination. Check it out for yourself! iTunes or Google Play.

Apps that suggest things to do, gas stations, and places to stay seem to be a dime a dozen, but through the research we’ve done for this list we found that ALLSTAYS came HIGHLY recommended by weekenders and full-timers alike. One benefit that makes ALLSTAYS stand out from the rest is that while it shows you everything from RV resorts to parking lots you’re allowed to over-night in, to even inclines on your routes, its best benefit is that it uses extensive filters and thousands of points that are unique to just this app. Unfortunately it’s only available for iPhones but if you’re one of them you can find it here.
